How many times have we taken the spiritual fights we are facing personally? Even though the Bible tells us that, “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12)?
Too often…I’m sure!! Even though, this is not a fight you want to insert yourself in, trust me!!
Bbuuuttt, confession is good for the soul…so go ahead and confess, “yes Lord, I am guilty”!!
We wear ourselves out taking on these fights that are not met for us. We are fighting a losing battle that belongs to the Lord. How many blows are we willing to take before tapping in the Lord? We end up taking punches after punches to end up face down on the ground like Nate Robinson against a well-talented opponent (no shade). And regardless, of how much time we spend training and practicing, we were already counted out by the choice we made to take that step into the fight instead of welcoming the Lord in. For he is prepared and equip to win our battles for us.
We need to stop thinking that we can do it on our own by taking control of our own situations. Learn to step aside, take a seat and be still. God said, “be still, and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth” (Psalm 46:10). For here’s the kicker, our fights are meant for God to be exalted…for him to be glorified…not us! Remember that NO men or principalities can take God’s glory. For in the process of fighting our own battles, we are trying to take the place of God and his shine just like the Devil “tried” to overthrow him and we all know where that landed him. And before God allows that to happen, he will allow you to remove yourself out of the fight by default.
So, the next time when you find yourself in this position, tap the Lord in through prayer, fasting and worship. We are so busy trying to fight your own battles and God is waiting on us to call on him. When we take on our own fights we are telling God that he is not needed and he needs to take OUR seat on the sideline when in actuality it is the other way around. That seat was place there for us to witness God’s marvelous movements.
So, please step aside and hold YOUR seat, take a back seat for once and watch God move on your behalf.
And remember that what the enemy met for evil, God will use it for your good!
Much love!!!
