Chosen beyond my Flaws

Mary Magalene, was amongs the very first few people that were selected by Jesus to reveal himself to after his resurrection. She was a woman that was delivered from seven evil spirits and was chosen by God to be a witness of the true gospel.

I ask that you to take a moment and let that sink in…

Someone who was possessed with several evil spirits…not just one but seven and was far from perfect but was CHOSEN.

SHE, a WOMAN, and LOW on the social structure of that time and culture was CHOSEN by the Almighty God to spread the gospel and was ordered to tell the disciples that the Master had rose from the dead. I am sure she or anyone else did not expect such news from her, but she was CHOSEN.

And like Mary Magalene, we too with our brokenness and marred parts can be used by God. Even when others count us out, lost and just outright filthy, God sees us as an usable vessel. As you see, he calls and uses the ones that are least among the multitude for his will. Even if you feel like you are so messed up and far from him, he see beyond it all. For when people discredit you because of your flaws, just know that God sees nothing but potential.

He said he will leave  the ninety-nine for that one lost sheep. For that one lost sheep has a story to share for God’s glory. And if you are like me, at times you see yourself as that one lost sheep thats flawed and of little value. But in the eyes of God he sees a person that is far precious than gold.

It is time to start embracing those flaws and imperfections for they are part of your story. A story that has not yet been told. Mary Magalene had a story and because of her story, she is still be spoken us centuries later. She knew who she was, everyone around knew who she was, but only God really saw her beyond her “was” and saw who she “is” in him; who he created her to be…her potiential…her purpose…her destiny.

You may think because you are not “perfect” you cannot be use by God, and I am here to tell you the good news that you’re wrong! Remember that the most influential folks in the Bible were filled with nothing but flaws. There were idolers, adulterers, prosecuters, and thieves, just to name a few…but the difference between you and these people are that they allowed God to use their shame and nakedness for his glory. While on the other hand, you are trying to hide and cover-up your nakedness, instead of facing your truth and mistakes, which created stumbling blocks for your life. So the next time you feel like you are far left, remind yourself that God honors your progression, not  perfections.

What if you find yourself coming up short, remember that God’s mercy is sufficient with repentance. For we all have sin and come short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23. For Isiah 61: 6 & 7, tells us: “And you will be called priests of the LORD, you will be named ministers of our God. You will feed on the wealth of nations, and in their riches you will boast. Instead of their shame my people will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace they will rejoice in their inheritance; and so they will inherit a double portion in their land, and everlasting joy will be theirs”. So don’t be discouraged and embrace you as you are and God will reveal to you as you are to him.
